Westcountry Energy Action

Westcountry Energy Action (WcEA) set up in 1993, is working to reduce the impact of climate change and fuel poverty and to support the economic regeneration of our communities through the development and delivery of sustainable energy policy and practice. WcEA is a not for profit, charitable business working with the public, private, and voluntary sectors to deliver action that will result in:

- The development of projects and partnerships leading to the sustainable use of energy

- Awareness raising and education about climate change and the sustainable use of energy

- Homes being adequately and affordably heated

- Influencing of local policy and strategy to ensure that the sustainable use of resources is incorporated into future development and practice.

To help us achieve this WcEA runs the Devon Energy Efficiency Advice Centre, supported by the Energy Saving Trust (EST) and the Local Authorities of Devon. It is one of 52 independent centres across the UK, providing free, impartial and locally relevant advice to households.

Westcountry Energy Action also manages discounted cavity wall and loft insulation schemes on behalf of Local Authorities, for example our PLEA and Warm Up schemes run in several Local Authority areas. To find out what schemes are operating in your area contact the advice centre on 0800 512 012.

We support local authorities with the Devon Sustainable Energy Network and can advise on renewable energy options through Renewable Energy 4 Devon.

WcEA also offers a variety of training courses and school activity programmes.
